KARMEL NAIR was born Catholic, is married to a Hindu and practises the Buddhist way of life. Before turning to Tarot she worked in a media house and as a successful RJ with leading radio stations. Then Tarot happened and opened up a new world of experience and discovery to her. Karmel went on to become one of the leading Tarot readers in Mumbai, India, and also did television shows as an expert Tarot Reader where she reached out to millions, to hear them out and offer tarot-based solutions.
She turned to Vipassana and meditation to deal with the persistent vacuum she felt despite her success. An increasing absorption in her knowledge of the self led to the realisation that we are all here with a purpose, to serve a calling and that the more we align with the same the more we are enriched in life. She counselled and helped many people from all walks of life; sad, curious, distressed, heartbroken people who came to her for a glimpse of the future, and more importantly, to deal with their grief. Equipped with a Masters’ degree in Psychotherapy and her skills as a Tarot reader, Karmel found herself in a position to help people get a glimpse of what the future had in store for them and to mitigate the negatives through correct steps and actions.
This book is a product of her experience, learning and understanding of Tarot and of human nature.

They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. There I was on a pleasant Goan evening right in the middle of a bustling flea market. The stall in front of me was nondescript yet alluring with bold letters inviting visitors to ‘KNOW YOUR DESTINY WITH TAROT’. I took the initial step with trepidation and curiosity, with the keenness to know what was in store for me. I entered the stall and met an elderly lady whose hypnotic and magical eyes belied her age. I took a seat right in front of her. She immediately asked me in a confident tone, “What would you like to know?” Well, this was my first time and I was a total novice at asking questions about my future. With all my inexperience and innocence, I gathered courage and came up with a simple question. “What do you see in my near future?” She shuffled her cards some three to four times and spread them in a circular shape, a total of five cards. They looked colourful and interesting, even magical and mystical. She seemed lost in the cards and this kind of gave me a mixed feeling. Was it good or bad? In any case I butted into the silence and asked, “So what do you see?” To this she answered, “My dear, I am happy to tell you that I see you getting married to your boyfriend, the one you are seeing now, in less than a year.”
This came as a surprise to me as I was unsure of my ongoing relationship and definitely wasn’t considering marriage anytime soon. The other things she said really appalled me. “I see a new beginning,” she said, “a beautiful one, but this comes at a price.” I was sold. “What beginning and what price?” I asked.
“I see you starting a journey that you have never taken before, a journey that will change your life and your life’s purpose, but at a price that you may have to pay now. The price is at the cost of your existing job. You may be asked to leave what you believe is your dream job, only to begin the real journey of your life.”
This kind of disappointed me. I loved my job as a Radio Jockey with a leading radio station; I was doing exceedingly well and there was talk of my being moved to prime time, which was like an indirect promotion. It was out of the question that I would be asked to leave. What journey was I going to start? This didn’t go down too well with me. However, with this I ended my reading and bid adieu to the mystical woman.
When I returned to my job, everything looked good, as it was. It continued in the same manner for a couple of days only for something strange to happen after that. In less than 10 days I was asked to leave from my present profile and this at a time when I was doing very well and hoping to shift into drive time shows. The project I was working on had moved to some other location and they didn’t need me any longer. This shattered me and my dream. That’s when the Tarot reader’s predictions rang like a warning bell in my head. Her predictions were coming true. I felt it deep in my heart. Four months from the time I got my first ever Tarot reading, I was engaged to my boy friend and was married after another three months.
Today I am happily married, leading a different but remarkable life in which I discover myself each day. Everything she predicted went right and I found it difficult to accept this, to even acknowledge it. After a couple of months I went back looking for her because the urge to know what she had left unsaid nagged me. She had mentioned a new journey. What could it be? I went back to Goa where I met her at the same place. Luckily for me, I met her just as she was packing up for Europe permanently. I reminded her that I had been there a few months ago and she had predicted everything correctly but with one undisclosed thread of events.
“You will discover yourself through your instinct and intuition. You are meant to do something related to foretelling the destiny of others. Your calling is to see the unknown.” Her prediction was still ambiguous. On the way back I continued to ponder over her words.
Life got back to normal as usual. I found myself a new job, was getting ready to move on with marriage and the rest, but there were sudden incidents that would bring me back to what the Tarot reader had predicted about my self-discovery. Two of my common friends got engaged; I had a nagging feeling about the eventual marriage and would often discuss the uncomfortable instinct with my husband. I strongly felt that their marriage wouldn’t last long. Since it was only a feeling, an intuition, I couldn’t take it beyond discussing it with my husband. My friends got married and three months later they separated. This didn’t come as a surprise to me for I knew something was wrong, my instinct told me so.
After a while I predicted India’s victory in a critical match, a victory which seemed impossible. Again it was my intuition, my sixth sense. It didn’t stop at this. I continued predicting big and small incidents as if my ability had suddenly assumed a mind of its own. A colleague of mine was going through a difficult financial situation; I predicted an unexpected sum of money for him, a windfall. Of course he didn’t believe me when I said help would come; I didn’t know from where or how, but I knew it would, and it did. Incidents like these would keep bringing me back to the Tarot reader’s prediction and that’s when it dawned on me that Tarot could be the missing link. Probably this is how I could foretell one’s destiny, heal one’s life through my knowledge, and show others the way. This is when my journey began.
I started working towards this new discovery, the discovery of Tarot. I knew the underlying power of Tarot but the success lay in becoming not just a Tarot reader but a good one. I dedicated my life to its understanding and study. I continued working but only half heartedly. I was convinced that Tarot was the big change and I had to master it; my destiny rested upon it.
There has been no looking back. I have excelled at my work as an expert on this subject and in fact Tarot has opened doors to more than what I thought predicting the past, present, and future was all about. It showed me the way to spirituality. Spirituality is about connecting with your real self, with the Being in you. I am yet to get there but the journey has begun. Tarot has opened the door to achieving greatness and success beyond the material wonders of life.
Around this time, Vipassana also happened to me. Vipassana is a scientific form of meditation which releases negative energy from your body and brings your biggest formidable opponent under your complete control, your Mind! I attended a ten day course of Vipassana, and this opened my third eye. I knew my purpose in life—to reach out to others and guide them to their destiny through Tarot. I studied the Science of Psychotherapy and Counselling and this equipped me with a deep and scientific understanding of the human mind and enabled me to understand my clients’ needs beyond just pure tarot reading.
Today Tarot is an intrinsic part of my life and my experience as Tarot Reader gives me the confidence and knowledge to write this book. It is not just a medium to predict the future but a different way of life. As a student and practitioner of Tarot I have learnt that there is more to an individual than just his/her future. As a Reader I don’t just predict the future for my clients but try to equip them, through my intuitive future forecasts, with knowledge of what awaits them and how they can shape their future with this foreknowledge. Tarot gets you to where you want to be. My experience over the years has shown me it is not just the readings that draw people back to me but the whole process of change that Tarot offers. Besides readings, Tarot gives you a new way to handle life by guiding you not only through predictions for the future but also by equipping you with the means to address this future.
The Tarot way encourages and enables a deep understanding of the self that no other medium does. Spirituality is this deep sense of understanding of one’s inner being. Tarot gives you the power to get in touch with this side and change your destiny by thinking beyond the usual ways and means, beyond your mind’s restricted thought processes. Tarot takes you to your soul; it opens doors to the pure spiritual energy which we all have but is experienced by only a few. Tarot does this for you through me, your Reader; I am the path, Tarot the way, and the spiritual awakening the light. With my understanding of the scientific mind and spiritual knowledge, awakening you from within you becomes a simple and enjoyable process. Once you touch this inner spirit, there is nothing that can stop you from creating your own destiny.

Before we delve into Tarot, how it works, and what it can do for you, there are some other important facts that you must know. Tarot is a powerful medium used for many reasons. These reasons could be good or bad depending on how one uses it and how the other perceives it. For me, Tarot is the magic that happened several years ago. The woman who brought this magic into my life was some kind of a gypsy whom I will probably never forget. I recall my first experience as I was getting my first tarot reading done from her. She was as mystical as Tarot itself. She brought this interesting aura to Tarot which lured me into getting the reading done rather than the tarot cards themselves. Somehow the whole gypsy presentation was fascinating to me, exciting.
I am certain you too have a similar impression about Tarot, at least before you read this book. A lot of myths go into the making of Tarot. These myths are both interesting and fascinating and I would like to dispel them one by one by giving you the true essence of the reader and the Tarot Cards.
Myth:Tarotis done only/mostly by Gypsies. It is Gypsies who created Tarot.
Fact: Tarot is, was, and can be practised by any normal person who has a heightened sense of intuition and has mastered the art of reading tarot cards through practice and meditation. Tarot is neither limited to Gypsies nor was it created by them. The myth developed because in the olden times, Tarot was very often seen with Gypsies. Gypsies used the tarot decks as playing cards and were responsible for bringing them into Europe. It travelled with them from place to place and thus became associated with gypsy lives. Tarot was used by gypsies but mainly for playing games. Its occultism emerged after it travelled down from them to various other parts of the world. Although today Tarot is used by everyone, we tend to see and remember the most impressionable of our experiences, one like mine. Gypsies provide a dark and mystical presentation of Tarot, which makes it easy perhaps to associate Tarot with them.
Myth:Tarot is Black magic
Fact: Tarot is the prediction of one’s life through plain aura reading. Over the years, due to its association with gypsies, magic, dark energy and negative elements, it came to be identified with black magic. Throughout history, various religious institutions have wanted to keep the power and control of human life in their own hands. This caused them to banish tarot and create negative speculation about it, thus discouraging people from using Tarot for predictions and using it instead only as a plaything. Powerful religious institutions didn’t want the power of the future and positive belief to be handed over to the common man as they feared loss of trust and control. Tarot gives you the power to change your destiny by foretelling what’s in store for you and this shall be revealed in the forthcoming chapters of this book. From this it is evident that Tarot is no black magic but simple intuition and aura reading which gives it a certain magical quality due to its predictive quotient.
Myth:Tarot is Witchcraft
Fact: Tarot is purely energy and aura reading. In keeping with the tradition of condemning anything that was not in line with their religious beliefs, powerful institutions down the ages tarnished Tarot’s name by calling it negative, black magic and dark energy so as to dissuade the common man from knowing its true power and potential, the potential which gives one control and mastery over one’s destiny. These religious institutions successfully banished tarot by calling it Witchcraft, devilish and occultist, and thus people were discouraged from relying on these mediums for guidance, depending completely instead on religious and dogmatic practices.
Myth:Tarot connects you with spirits, the supernatural.
Fact: Tarot is not a medium through which one can connect to the spirits of the dead or the supernatural. Planchet is the known technique used to call upon the spirits and is largely criticised by sceptics and critics. Tarot cards do not have the power to connect with spirits or the supernatural. It may finally boil down to the Tarot reader’s ability, the psychic’s power to perform such an action but most definitely not of Tarot per se.
Some people are gifted and have the skill or power to do the impossible; calling upon spirits may be one such skill. Tarot has no such power to call upon spirits whether from the underworld or from heaven. Tarot is associated with this myth due to its connection with the wicca, occult practitioners and other experts who use it as a medium to reveal the unknown in their own expert ways. The reader’s power will eventually transcend into the cards and turn them into a tool in the expert’s hands.
Myth:Tarot is dark, negative and devilish
Fact: How one uses any given tool makes it negative or devilish. If the power of Tarot is used to foretell your destiny and manifest the change needed, it is unarguably positive. On the other hand, when it is misused to harm people through incorrect practices and wrong ethics of the reader, these Tarot cards can become devilish and dark. It ultimately boils down to the charioteer who rides the chariot; the chariot is in his control and doesn’t have a mind of its own. It will turn right or left depending on where the charioteer wishes to take the chariot. Similarly, Tarot can be positive or negative depending on how the tarot reader wishes to use it. Tarot by itself is magnificent, beautiful and powerful.
Myth:Tarot is Magic
Fact: I like this last myth. It is true yet not so. Tarot is magical when the reader uses his/her powers accurately and predicts correctly. It is magical when the Tarot’s powers are tapped by the reader for the good of the querent (one who questions the reader). The power and intuition which the reader possesses makes these cards magical. Without the reader, these cards are simple playing cards and nothing else. The underlying power of tarot comes from the reader’s abilities to perform the right readings. Tarot is the magic which the reader creates.
All of these myths and facts make Tarot intriguing and fascinating. I am certain you have a lot of questions about Tarot, how it is done, whether it is safe, et al. After unravelling the myths surrounding it, it is time I answered your more practical and generic questions regarding Tarot. We will begin with FAQs about Tarot and then move on to what Tarot is, its history and of course its multiple benefits for you.

Over the years, I have come across various questions regarding Tarot from clients, friends, family, and from my immediate and larger social circle. Some are funny, some make you ponder and some are simply ridiculous, but all of them raise different kinds of issues and express various doubts and fears. I have listed some of them here for you.
Q:What does the word Tarot mean?
A: It does not have a specific meaning but over the years attempts have been made to find its meaning and origin. However the closest one can get is to the Italian derivative for Tarot, Tarocchi, which was the name given to Tarot when it was used as playing cards.
Q:Are the predictions 100 % accurate?
A: Mostly. Yes. I get asked this question very often from almost every patron with whom I interact and from every other individual to whom I introduce myself as a Tarot Reader and Psychotherapist. Most readings do turn out to be true unless of course you, the querent (the one who questions the reader), decide to change your actions to achieve a desired result. In such cases your predictions turn out to be different from the previous ones. The extent to which difference is created in the querent’s life from what was earlier predicted depends entirely on the querent’s efforts in changing his/her life for the better.
Q:Is it scientific?
A: No. It isn’t scientific but can form part of the Metaphysical branch of Philosophy which undertakes the study of subjects which are less easily explainable. You can read more about this in the next chapter.
Q:Is it similar to Astrology?
A: No. Astrology has a scientific base, Tarot doesn’t. Tarot is more of Aura reading, it is energy oriented. However, I have discussed this in detail in the next chapter.
Q:Is it better than Numerology, Astrology, Palmistry, Fortune telling etc?
A: This question is like asking a mother which of her children she loves more. All forms of foretelling the future are accurate. It entirely depends upon the experience and suitability you derive from the above mentioned mediums.
Q:Can it answer questions related to stocks, World Cup matches, sex of the foetus, life and death?
A: Yes. Tarot can answer all such questions. It just depends to what extent the Tarot Reader chooses to use this tool and in what manner.
Q:Can Tarot predict the past, present and future?
A: Yes.
Q:Did Tarot originate in India?
A: No.
Q:Where did Tarot originate?
A: Europe. It is believed to have travelled from Egypt to Europe and found its occult base in France and Italy. More on it in the forthcoming chapters.
Q:Can Tarot be learnt?
A: Yes. Learning Tarot is simple. You can do this in as short a time as 10 days, but to predict accurately, one requires to develop the intuition. This requires years of practice and patience. You may start this very moment.
Q:Can Tarot be done for people of all ages?
A: Yes. It can be done for people of all age groups but preferably 18 and above. Not that you need a license, but it’s better to have a strong heart to withstand what unfolds in your reading.
Q:How often should I do a Tarot Reading?
A: The lesser the better. By ‘lesser’, I mean that you are in control of your life and not the external factors. But usually a minimum gap of 45 days should be good between two readings.
Q:Can my Readings change?
A: Yes. You have the power to change your reading by changing your efforts and actions. This is what makes Tarot so beneficial for you. It shows you what’s in store for you and also guides you to change it if you are displeased with the reading.
Q:Does Tarot give remedies?
A: No. A Tarot reader will never give you remedies like rituals to be performed, gem stones to be worn or other objects to be kept close to heart. It’s in this sense that Tarot cannot be termed as a medium which gives remedies. It purely predicts your future and serves as a guideline.

Tarot and its History
Tarot is a set of 78 cards which is believed to have predictive powers. Tarot cards form a set of cards which in contact with the reader’s psychic powers becomes a tool that can reveal your past and present and predict your future. In the olden days Tarot was not used as a tool to foretell one’s destiny; it got its occult value much later.
Tarot has a strange history, full of speculations regarding its present form and use. To the average onlooker it may appear to be a deck of normal playing cards, which it was in the past. It was only around 1520 A.D that the French and the Italians invested these cards with their occult value. Before this time, these cards were used like all other playing decks, for games and entertainment. Many people believe that Tarot travelled to Europe first from Egypt. It’s also believed that during the great fire in Egypt, which burned down most of the ancient libraries, these cards were the only ones to survive as part of the ancient Egyptian culture and history. It then travelled to Europe where it was used as playing cards. There are various speculations about the history of Tarot, some believable, some not, some exciting and some sceptical. I’ll tell you about some that sound credible to me. I leave it to you to form your derivative of Tarot’s history from what you read here.
Tarot cards became popularly used as play cards somewhere in the 14
century in China. The Chinese used these cards merely to play or even to gamble. Tarot was also believed to be used as a source of money to bet on other types of card games. Around this time these cards were just the normal 56 cards with pictorial representation and used for playing card games. The 22 major Arcanas (main cards that predict the distant future) were added much later. From here it travelled down to the Islamic countries and is believed to have moved from here to Europe where, somewhere around the 15
century, it got its full form of 78 cards as well as its occult bearing. No one knows how these 22 major Arcanas came into being, who made them or when they made their first appearance.
In Europe, according to speculation, the Duke of Italy once wrote to a respected statesman asking about the trump cards of tarot. These trump cards are the court cards like the King, Queen and the Knight, along with the 22 major Arcanas. This is the only evidence in history which confirms the existence of the entire 78 cards as one deck. By this time the deck was formed and was still used for playing purposes. As the cards reached Italy, they started using local Latin suits of swords, cups, batons and coins. However, in other places, this deck still comprised of the normal suits of spades, hearts, diamond and clubs. Italy is the place where Tarot went through its major transformation and also received its occult value. Until then, the cards were being used to play a game called Triumph, known today as Bridge.
The history of Tarot and its occult value raises many questions and much speculation. This deck gained huge popularity across Europe and its use was widespread, but still used only as playing cards. No one knows how it got its occult symbolism; there is a lot of speculation around it, but it is generally accepted that in time the Italians discovered its magical powers and called it the Tarocchi, later translated into French as Tarot. This deck had a royal bearing as the duchess and dukes exchanged letters referring to the Tarot deck for entertainment and play.
It is also believed that somewhere around the 17
Century, Tarot found its occult value in France and England. Here the followers of occult discovered in Tarot a medium to predict the future. They developed divinatory meanings for the pictorial representation of tarot cards and thus invested it with occult significance. These cards were used by occult writers and thus it became part of the occult philosophy. As time passed, Tarot graduated from being used as playing cards to being used for occult purposes. As of today, Tarot is used by the occult, the pagan, Wicca and the common man as a tool to predict the future, know the unknown, and help achieve a certain change or balance needed in life to arrive at the desired outcome.
What is a Tarot Deck
A normal deck of cards has four suits—Club, Heart, Spade, Diamond and Court cards, a total of 56 cards. Tarot also has four suits—Cups (signifies emotions), Pentacles (signifies health and wealth), Swords (signifies thoughts and deeds) and Wands (signifies career or ambition) along with Court cards like the King, Queen, Knights and Pages; it has an additional 22 trump cards, a total of 78 cards. The total of four suits and four court cards for each suit make a total of 56 cards. These 56 cards are called the Minor Arcana. The Minor Arcana are cards that predict one’s future or reveal one’s past or present for a short period. The Minor Arcanas have ten cards in each suit starting from Aces to the Ten and each denotes a certain stage of your life. The 22 trump cards are called the Major Arcanas which predict one’s characteristics and the distant future ranging from over one to five years or more at times. The combination of these big and small cards, both the major and minor arcana form the Tarot deck, a total of 78 cards that go towards predicting your future. The Major Arcana starts with the Fool cards which marks the beginning of one’s life’s journey and ends with the World card that stands for completion and accomplishments of desired goals.
Major Arcanas are also widely used to predict personality type and characteristic features. I too have used Major Arcanas to describe you in correlation to your zodiac sign in this book. This will give you an interesting perspective of how Tarot perceives you at its best. The 56 Minor cards and 22 major cards can also be segregated into four elements namely Earth, Fire, Water and Air that form our existence in this Universe. In the four suits, Cups stands for WATER, Wands denotes FIRE, Swords signifies AIR and Pentacles EARTH. Similarly the 22 trump major arcanas too can be divided into these 4 categories. I have divided the 12 zodiac signs into the 12 tarot trump cards associated with them under these four elements:
Aries- The Emperor (fire)
Taurus- The Hierophant (earth)
Gemini- the Lovers (air)
Cancer- The Chariot (water)
Leo- The Strength (fire)
Virgo- The Hermit (earth)
Libra- The Justice (air)
Scorpio- The Death (water)

Aquarius- The Star (air)
Pisces- The Moon (water)
Each of these 78 cards is numbered. These numbers have a bearing on the person’s readings as and how these cards appear. The numbers especially on the 12 major Arcanas mentioned above delve into the individuals’ characteristic traits and other qualities associated with their personality.
How is Tarot Reading done?
Tarot reading involves two key elements:
The Tarot card Reader
The querent (one who questions the reader)
The process of tarot reading is an exchange of energy levels and aura which travels from the querent to the reader and then to the tarot cards which finally reveal the answers to your questions. Much of the occult and magical powers that tarot exhibits come from the Tarot Reader’s psychic ability. The stronger a psychic’s ability, the more accurately does the Tarot perform as a tool to predict the past, present and future. So it eventually boils down to how a Reader uses her skills to interpret your destiny from these cards, thus giving them their occult touch.
The querent may start by asking a few questions or giving a brief of concerns for which the querent seeks guidance from the reader. On the basis of the keys concern areas, the reader will formulate precise and direct questions with the querent’s consent and get the answers to them through the querent’s cards. The precision and clarity of the querent’s questions will determine the precision and clarity of the reader’s questions and thus, the response from the cards. It is thus the responsibility of both the reader and querent to be clear and distinct about the nature of queries put forth to the cards. If the querent is clear in her queries, the reader will be in a position to ask pointed or accurate questions and thus arrive at accurate and certain responses from the cards.
Tarot works primarily through the Aura one brings at the time of reading. Aura can be better explained as the energy frequency that the mind and body exude at a given time. This frequency can be happy, sad or simply confused. The energy that you emit is your aura. When you sit for a reading, Tarot predicts your fate on the basis of this energy frequency. This is Tarot’s most important benchmark. So in simple terms, Tarot is nothing more than a reading of your Aura or Energy level. On the basis of your present state of mind, your past, present and future are predicted. Tarot has no scientific base but a strong metaphysical essence. It is like this; you may not have seen god but you believe in divine power and presence. This strong belief system gives life to an unseen, unknown subject. Similarly, Tarot’s powers are unscientific and unexplainable, yet seductively convincing and real. When your readings come true, this fact is reaffirmed.
Tarot derives its power of unravelling fate through the Reader. The Reader is the one who pulls the cards that addresses your questions, concerns and doubts. The reader’s intuitive abilities give tarot the power to transform its projections into reality. Tarot’s success rests with the Reader’s intuitive psychic ability. The more a reader is in close contact with his/her psychic powers, the more accurate the reading. We all have intuitive abilities, what we generally call the sixth sense, but only a few are able to develop the power and the potential to use them constructively. One needs to harness this sixth sense through dedication and perseverance; to explore the realms of the subconscious (mind) and at times even use the powers bestowed upon one through their super conscious being (soul/spirit). To reach this level we need to dedicate our life to the study of aura through constant meditation and the practice of spirituality. This is the only way for a psychic to tap her full psychic ability. A reading or a prediction may go right or wrong depending upon the psychic ability of the Tarot reader to interpret the cards’ outcome in the context of the seeker’s questions. If the reader interprets the cards’ outcome correctly, the predictions will be right; else they will falter.

In my long practice and experience of reading people’s future, I have come upon three important ways in which Tarot can help you. This book of future is based upon these three aspects of Tarot. Let us begin to unfold the potential of Tarot with the first and most popular benefit.
I. Tarot as a medium for prediction
This is the first and most important aspect of Tarot, also its most attractive. Based on the reader’s potential, Tarot can predict your entire future life in a single sitting. Clients typically come to me with their problems, issues or confusions and Tarot offers them a sneak peek into what awaits them with respect to their questions. This prepares them for the better or for worse. To explain this better let me tell you about a few real life examples.
I had a client who visited me just once. It’s difficult to forget her because of the condition she was in when she met me to ask about her marriage. She was 36 years old, had a string of failed relationships and had lost faith in finding the right match for herself. Her parents were desperately seeking a bridegroom for her through various arranged marriage portals. She was convinced that because of her age her chances at marriage were bleak. When she came to me she was dejected, lost and tired; the process of making her past relationships last and the ongoing process of finding a bridegroom had drained her completely. She wanted to know if she could ever get married and live happily ever after.
My reading of her cards showed marriage within six months. Unbelievable as it sounded to her at that time, she took the reading with a pinch of salt. A few months later, I received an e-mail from her. She was getting married and that too, within the stipulated time I had predicted.
In this instance, Tarot served purely as a tool to predict the client’s future.
In another case, I was often visited by a client who had just one question; he wished to buy an apartment of his own in Mumbai. His salary was meagre and this was his only dream and vision for the future. On reading his cards, I told him it would be another two years before he could fulfil his desire. To my dismay, he wouldn’t believe me. He often visited me to cross check this probability and Tarot’s accuracy as his finances dipped or improved. Given his current financial position, this seemed a far cry. Believe it or not, two years later he succeeded in buying his dream apartment on his own merit. The prediction was as true as his home.
Tarot can thus work as a tool purely for future predictions. However, its benefits are not limited to this.
II. Tarot gives you the power to change your reading to achieve the desired results
Tarot’s potential is not limited to merely predicting your future life or reading the past. It goes beyond that. When a prediction is made by the Reader, there is a possibility that the prediction may undergo change and thus become the opposite of what was predicted. This primarily happens because tarot is the only form of occult or a medium which gives you the flexibility to change what you don’t like about your reading. When you see something negative predicted for you, you have the time to invest efforts and energy to bring about a change in the reading and achieve the desired results. Tarot thus gives you the power to change your life and shape it the way you want to. It will show you where you stand at the present moment and what your future looks like considering your present actions and aura. If you like it, keep it the way it is; if not, change it by changing your actions before the predictions manifest themselves.
Tarot therefore serves as a guideline to show you what you can do to improve your future by changing your present. Some of my clients feel happy when their readings go wrong, because the ultimate outcome was what they originally desired.
Three years ago, I had a client who was studying Chartered Accountancy and was preparing for his intermediate exams. He was confident when he came to me; his questions revolved around the jobs he would get after completing C.A. However, when I did his reading he was shocked. His cards revealed that he would fail his intermediate exams; his plans would undergo a complete downturn. I explained to him that his present efforts weren’t enough to help him clear the exam and that instead of dreaming about the future he needed to dedicate all his time and effort to changing the outcome.
He called me after six months to tell me that my reading had gone wrong and that he had cleared his exams as he had planned. He thanked me for guiding him and letting him know his true position and potential on the day he had visited me, for helping him address the possibility of failure before it could happen. Tarot showed him his true position and its consequences had he continued in the same vein. A change was needed and Tarot forewarned him about it.
Thus, Tarot gives you the power to change your destiny. You have it all, but the knowing is often amiss. Tarot is the missing link which connects your actions with the desired future. It tells you what can be done to get from here to where you want to be and not land someplace else, where you don’t wish to be.
One of my clients was an excellent worker, ambitious and goal oriented. She often did readings with me to know about growth and success in her career. However, once she came to me for a different reason. She was given a new role under a new boss. Just before taking over the new role, she had been looking forward to a promotion and a hefty incentive. Apparently, with the new shift and the teething problems with her new boss, she was unsure of her promotion. She wanted a reading primarily to know about her expected promotion. Unfortunately, when I picked her cards, they gave no indication of a promotion. On the contrary, she was set to lose her job! The new boss had taken the decision as he found her overbearing attitude unacceptable. When I told her this she was obviously shocked, but I also informed her that it was in the near future, it hadn’t already happened, and she had the time to turn things around by changing her actions and attitude, by working more patiently, approaching work with a modest attitude and adjusting a little more with her new boss. Tarot also suggested that the less she fought with her boss the better it would be for her. She was advised to be more accommodating towards the new changes presented to her.
She called after a few months. She had had her promotion as against what I had predicted, but it was because she had done as advised, changed her approach to work and therefore gained a better future. If Tarot hadn’t shown where she stood as on that day, she wouldn’t have gotten the promotion and instead would have lost her job.
Tarot thus gives you the power to change your destiny. Positive thinking and a strong belief system can go a long way in changing your life from the present state. Tarot is this source of positive energy. It shows you what you need to do to get what you desire. If your cards predict a certain future and it isn’t what you want, then the solution is simple—what you are doing presently isn’t working for you. Thus change your actions, increase or reduce your efforts as per your Tarot reading and get what you ultimately desire.
Most of my patrons visit me at a time or stage in their life where they have either given up on hope or feel lost and defeated by life’s struggles. Besides predicting their future, my Tarot readings focus on what the future looks like depending on their present stance. I inform them about this undesirable future if so predicted or a desirable one as per the outcome of their readings. In a situation where the readings are undesirable I gently guide them to how they can change their life, by instilling faith and courage in them that they have the power to change their destiny. Tarot guides you and shows you where you will be if you walk a certain path. If the destination is not what you wanted, change your path and transform your life.
Astrology, Numerology or any other form of occult mostly dwells on your life and tells you what is in store for you in time. Tarot goes beyond all this. It definitely tells you what is in store for you in your future and also gives you the magical power to transform your life. No one can take this power away from you and Tarot’s indicative philosophy only reaffirms this. The reading that you do can reflect this change from time to time depending on how you decide to shape your life on the basis of the future predicted in your last reading. Tarot is like a guide or a mentor who holds your hands and takes you to your success. Every step that you take, every change that you bring about in your life on the basis of your Tarot Readings will reflect a different and a better future. It all depends on how you use this power of Tarot to your advantage.
III. Tarot as a Counsellor and a way to spiritual enhancement
This third and last element of Tarot is something I have acquired over the years of practice and experience, my personal contribution to enhancing Tarot readings and their potential to guide lives. Tarot doesn’t necessarily play a direct role of counsellor or a guide to spirituality but it does so indirectly, through me. When I started doing Tarot initially it was only limited to the above two elements, a medium to predict the future and to change your destiny by showing you the way forward. As I grew in my experience as a Tarot card reader I realised that most of my clients kept coming back to me to be healed and, most often, just to open up and pour out their heart to me. Most of my experiences revolved around helping clients battle their life ahead through constant motivational talks and strategies to help them create a better life.
This led me to study ‘Psychotherapy and Counselling’. I did my masters while I was practising Tarot and it helped me immensely to shape my clients’ lives for the better. The scientific understanding of human psychology enabled me to come up with interesting behavioural therapies, methods of psychotherapy and various ways of counselling. Sometimes I deployed assertive therapy, sometimes aggressive therapy, and sometimes plain pep talk therapy. My intervention as a Counsellor started making huge positive changes in my clients’ lives. They developed a more positive and healthy lifestyle and started achieving more out of themselves.
This art of positive reinforcement and scientific intervention was initiated through Tarot in my life. It helped me become an expert at reading the mind and heart and guiding my clients on the basis of these enhanced readings. I struck the right chords of intuition and scientific intervention to heal my patrons. This brought about a phenomenal change in my own perspective of life and a 360 degree shift in my outlook. I started seeing things differently. This is also the time Vipassana happened to me.
Vipassana is an art of self realisation, a way to Nirvana, the method practised and preached by Gautama Buddha. This further enlightened me and opened the door to spirituality. I dedicated a lot of time to studying spirituality and ways to attain self realisation through meditation. During this time I came upon various forms of meditation to heal my clients by helping them reduce stress related problems, address interpersonal issues, and guide them towards self realisation.
Self-realisation is an overwhelming concept or perhaps it is the perception that makes it so. Hence I will dwell a little more on its details to give you a brief understanding of what this concept truly means with respect to Tarot and how each of these three benefits that you derive from Tarot are interrelated.
Nirvana/Self Realisation/Liberation
In my understanding, self-realisation is synonymous with Liberation which is synonymous with Nirvana. Nirvana was the term coined by Gautama Buddha during his phase of actualisation and realisation. Self-realisation as such means your inner realisation where you discover the true essence of your inner being. To be more precise, it is an awakening of the being within. The process of self realisation leads to the answer of the biggest ever rhetorical question ‘Who Am I’?
It may sound untrue if I say you are more than your skin, more than your present body, more than your achievements and are far greater than time. In all honesty and reality, you are. You are a soul who has travelled hundreds of births to achieve this human form. Hence do not let this human form go in vain. The sole purpose of your human form is a blessing, an opportunity to establish oneness with the Universe. When I say oneness I mean harmony, peace and realisation. In a lay man’s terms, realisation is the process of taming the human mind, humankind’s most formidable opponent. This opponent lives within and conquering it delicately and gently is your biggest challenge. This can be done through meditational techniques listed down in the chapter ‘Author’s Note’. You can use the technique listed in the particular volume for your Zodiac sign or read through the rest and choose the one form of meditational technique that suits you the most. I perform the Vipassana meditation. It has become a way of life for me. Vipassana is a simple technique which promises remarkable results. It is a tried and tested technique strongly recommended for achieving glimpses of spiritual enlightenment. I am confident that once you start meditation and see the positive results, you won’t stop what you started. As the saying goes, unless you fall in love, you won’t know what love is.
In our modern times, we are busy with achieving material and emotional gains. This larger purpose is completely lost and you thus lose the purpose of your birth. The sooner you realise that your greatest achievement rests in establishing oneness with the universe and not going against it, the better it will be for you. Now you may ask, why should I even be discussing realisation when I am already happy and content within or without? If this question plays in your mind, I have the answer to it.
Why should I realise?
You may not know what success is unless you have tasted it. You may not know what chocolate is unless you have eaten it. You may not know what love is unless you have felt it. So it is with self-realisation. You may not know what you are missing out on unless you have had a glimpse of it. These glimpses I have had through my study, belief and open mindedness to accept spirituality. You won’t know how beautiful it is, how happy one feels by being in this state, how simple detachment seems, which is probably the main reason for our misery, unless you have had glimpses of realisation. To achieve this and to help you get on with it I have introduced Spirituality readings in this book.
When it comes to liberation I am not there yet, but my attempt is to help with whatever I have studied and understood about the Body, Mind and Spirit. ‘Your Spiritual Reading’ for the year ahead is a special chapter in this book that arose from this understanding and experience through Tarot. These three benefits of Tarot—future predictions, the concept of change, and ultimately spiritual enlightenment—are inter-related. These three levels of life—the physical level (Predictions), the mental level (the power and control to change your life) and the Spiritual level (the realisation)—are like the three corners of a triangle. Astrology is the study of planetary positions in relation to your birth date and time. What is this Metaphysics? How can one explain the sixth sense, the intuition that something will happen or it may not, the intuition that guides me to predict your destiny which is unexplainable but with results that are acceptable and believable? This is the place where Tarot fits in perfectly. It is inexplicable yet remarkably accurate.
Tarot predicts everything that you may want to know about your life. You just need to find the right Reader. Therefore the accuracy of Tarot cards entirely depends on the skill set of the Reader. A reader develops this skill with great effort by deploying techniques of meditation, patience and constant study. What is a Tarot Spread?
A tarot spread is a cluster of cards put together to give an overview of a querent’s life. In this chapter we try to understand two of my favourite spreads for every Zodiac, namely:
Past-Present-Future Spread: This spread is most often used when the querent wants to know what has happened in the past, what is going on presently in his/her life, and what the future has in store; it is a snapshot of the querent’s entire life. The time line of the three tenses (past, present and future) could range anywhere between 6 months to 6 years or even more at times. It is all subject to the querent’s Aura as to what cards, whether distant or near, come up in this spread. This spread involves three cards for each tense. It is also popularly known as the three-card spread. It is one of most basic spreads and the simplest to understand and hence it has found importance in this book.
After this basic spread, it could be interesting to understand one of the most important and somewhat complicated spreads in Tarot.
The Horoscope Spread: The Horoscope Spread is a ten-card circular spread which gives you a complete overview of your entire life with emphasis on aspects close to the mind and soul. This spread is like taking a sneak peek into what has gone into making you (your past life and karmic deeds), the person you are (present), what is to come, and what will shape you in the future for your own good. This is your entire life predicted through ten cards, each associated with the 10 most important aspects of your life according to Tarot. This spread is most often done to understand the querent at a macro level which isn’t time-bound but depends upon the kind of person you are on the basis of the karmic deeds of your past births and present life. In this spread ten cards are placed in a circle where each card reveals the following in the order given from right to left.

The above two spreads are subject to change except in the case where your past is involved. Aries—THE EMPEROR
Aries is the first of the twelve star signs and therefore has this peculiar trait of childish stubbornness and overpowering zest. In Tarot Aries is described by the Emperor Card. Now if you compare the qualities you as an Aries exhibit to those of an Emperor you will realize that there is a remarkable similarity between the two. You are childishly stubborn, authoritative, and easily influenced. You have the natural knack for being a good leader, you are patient and very sensitive, and this makes you an emotional individual. Now lets us compare these qualities with those of an Emperor. An Emperor is strong headed and focused. He is authoritative and easily influenced by factors like the urge for conquests, hunger for wealth and the unrelenting desire for power. On the flip side, the Emperor is also childish when it comes to his overbearing emotions. Sometimes this could make him sensitive towards the needs of his people, thus making him a good leader or, conversely, make his emotions overpowering enough to force people to succumb to his demands. You are described in Tarot with the Emperor card as it perfectly fits in with your qualities in every aspect—your personality, mental strength and your spiritual inclination. Let’s now turn to the Emperor card and understand its implications on your personality and your life.
If you look at the Emperor Card from the Rider Waite Tarot Deck, you will first see a King seated on a majestic throne wearing a red robe. The throne is the symbol of power and authority and his robe, red against the card’s orange background, stands for the elements fire and earth in amalgamation. Fire denotes aggression and fiery stubbornness while earth stands for stability, poise and calm temperament. The staff in his right hand symbolises authority and dominion and his crown experience and wisdom. The colour of his robe stands for courage, valour, and aggression to take on new challenges. The Ram’s head on the throne, also the sign of Aries, denotes enthusiasm and vigour. The card is numbered IV, as in the fourth month of the year, i.e., April, the month of Aries. Four is considered a masculine number, true to its association with the Emperor card in Tarot. It is a divine number, a number of the right balance between law and order and fairness.
In my explanation here Emperor denotes both the Aries Man and Aries Woman. Emperor classically symbolises the head of the family, a dominating spouse, a temperamental and a fair boss, or an enthusiastic lover who is perceived as the more mature one in a relationship. As the head of the family, you are the provider who is also gentle and kind, a good mentor for your children and a rule setter for the family. This is your emotional and sensitive side at its best. You will see to it that the laws are obeyed and also question when they are not followed. You are a natural leader and therefore command the authority and power that the Emperor exhibits.
The Emperor has his negative aspect too. Your demanding, aggressive and hot headed nature could cause issues in upbringing and exert the wrong kind of influence on family members. As a spouse, the Emperor is the dominant one in the relationship, constantly wanting to prove his point and therefore, most often, imposing it on the other. Your authority and enthusiasm make you very attractive to the opposite sex but at times you can be unnecessarily possessive and dominating, making the relationship lopsided.
As a boss, the Emperor is the perfect leader; authority, stability, dependability, and equality are the ruling attributes of this card. These qualities make you a natural leader and a good one too. The Emperor is a perfect example of courage and valour and this is why you are often ready to plunge into challenges. You stand up for your own decisions, good or bad. However, as a difficult boss, you can be a tyrant, someone who is over-demanding and assertive, making life difficult for your followers. On the negative side you can be the don’t-mess-with-me kind. Spirituality doesn’t come naturally and easily to the Emperor. He is a master sign of Ego and Power, the two qualities that take him away from spirituality. In order to walk the path of spirituality, you will have to shed the Emperor’s skin, meaning you will have to forsake your power and ego, which, in all honesty, I see as a rare possibility. The Emperor’s only saviour here is his need to help his people; this alone can liberate him. Likewise, you may choose spirituality only if there ever arises a feeling to serve mankind with an urge to reach out to others and end the suffering. This could be the only reason why you would ever abandon your throne and kingship and choose to follow the path of spirituality. However, knowing the emperor’s strong will, he is quite capable of doing this and when he does so, we will have the next Gautama Buddha emerge from amongst us. You, as the Emperor, may just choose to be that one.

Before you proceed, I would like to inform you that this is a general prediction for you. A lot depends on how you take control of your life and use these readings to your advantage. This reading serves best as a guideline and shows you where you stand as of today. If you are unhappy and dissatisfied, you have the time to change the ultimate outcome on the basis of what has been predicted through my readings in this book.
January – January brings a message. You have been waiting to start something or do something new for a long time but didn’t know what you could possibly attempt. January clears the confusion; you may start a new setup, new assignment or a new love affair. I see you trying too hard to make things work too fast. Relax. Take it easy. If needed, isolate and introspect as to how to put this idea to best use. It is a time of introspection. Ask yourself and you will know what needs to be done next. Seek, and you shall find. This month also brings in a situation where I see you balancing two opposite elements; for instance two difficult bosses or two opposite and difficult relationships like wife and mother-in-law. Beware! You can’t keep two swords in one sheath. You will have to make a choice here. Initially the choice seems impossible but you must initiate it and it will gradually fall in place. The earlier you choose one and let go of the other, the more peace and harmony you will find. The good news is I see you doing just that. In January your work seems to be doing well; a lot of appreciation and rewards coming your way.
February – February is the month of multi tasking. Honestly speaking you shouldn’t be multi tasking at this time because I don’t see you striking success, especially with your finances. April – April is the continuation of wealth. What we saw happening last month end, continues in this month. You will embark on the journey to acquiring more wealth. Rejection, disappointment, deception or treachery is likely to happen but it is only a phase and will soon settle. Don’t get overwhelmed with this because this month is really as promising as it had begun, especially as I can see a positive change on your work front. Professionally things will be looking up very well. News comes in which only makes work better. The most important bit about April is completion. You will complete the cycle of good-bad-good again. Life picks up from here and there’s no looking back. Just go with the flow and enjoy all of it while it lasts.
May – May is the time to put everything into execution mode. Everything that you have planned to do will now be implemented. The ultimate motive of all this is to gain wealth and become prosperous. This month you will spend a lot of your time, energy and money to make life more comfortable. If you are a male Arian, this could be the time you find an interesting companion, authoritative and attractive. Kindly note, don’t get too carried away with all the spending and trying to lure the opposite sex because this might land you in trouble. Don’t let temptations possess you. Everything done in moderation is good, be it spending or romancing. June is especially good for love. If you are a female Arian, you are likely to find true love now. Nurture this relationship well, since it will go a long way. Ambition and love will be the two sides of the same coin. Flip it either way and you will only get success.
July – July is the month to feel good about yourself and take some pride in the work you do. This month will be promising for work as in the last. In fact a message is to come, a message of betterment, positive news that will charge you up and increase your efficiency and productivity. You must give yourself a pat on your back for doing professionally well in July. To focus on other aspects of life, July will be the time to take an epic decision. You will have to evaluate all the options and choices, resolve the internal conflict in your head and make this decision. The best thing to do here is to use your intuition. Not all decisions are matters of the head; some are of the heart too. Decide right, although I see you going wrong here and breaking your heart. Deceptions and disappointment may trouble you emotionally in your personal life. Now that you know what awaits you, I advise you to change this negative outcome by putting in the right efforts needed to arrive at a desirable future.
August – August is a challenging month. The first of its kind so far in your yearly reading. I see theft happening. Theft, big or small, of money or credit, of love and spirit. Someone somewhere is out there to steal from you, to discredit you or to backstab you or simply cause disharmony and chaos in your life. So beware. This could be correlated to your difficulty in handling two opposite elements and trying to work out a balance between them. Like for instance two difficult bosses, two friends who are giving opposite kinds of advice. Something of this sort is likely to land you in a pickle. One of these two opposite elements might just be the thief. Apparently I see you doing fairly well in handling this messy situation. You will balance it out well and will also do a fairly good job at giving it proper closure. If there is litigation involved in your life around this time, you are likely to win it. Work related news that you have been awaiting for a long time will come through in August.
September – September is a good month for you dear Emperor. Although you may feel bored initially with the routine responsibilities and activities, especially on the emotional front, things will change later and for your good. Relationships might get boring and seem saturated. But this is just a phase and will therefore pass. Rather than jump to conclusions, be patient with your counterpart in all types of relationships. This will do much good, and fortunately, as I see, you would be doing just that. A new message, a happy one, or a new idea is likely to excite you and bring about a positive change. From here on September only gets better. I see this positive change bringing in wealth, fortune from a sudden event or a sudden shift in your destiny. This month also looks positive for a home purchase or marriage.
October – October starts off as a busy month. Your marriage or your home purchase keeps you busy with instant expenditure in all aspects—money, time and effort. Enjoy this phase but avoid overspending and collecting debts. Moderation is advised.
However, difficult times come in the form of difficult decisions to be made in October. You might have to leave a relationship, a job or a home that you love for your own betterment. This you will have to do because it is not working for you. While doing this safeguard yourself from being cheated emotionally, professionally or monetarily. I see you at your fairest and doing well in decisions where justice is required. Basically, October ends well with you playing a fair game.
November – November is a time to take a break. You have been working very hard and deserve a break for this. Pat your back for all the efforts you have put in matters of head and heart. This month I see you spacing out a bit; it will do you good. A new assignment or a new job offer is likely to come in, so don’t get too overwhelmed. Finish with the break and then submit yourself to new tasks. In matters of love you will be perceived as a very attractive person this time around. Fatal attractions are likely to happen, in a positive sense. If you are in a relationship already you are likely to do better in it and if you are single, then you are at a point of attracting true love. This month is very rewarding emotionally because you will manifest everything that makes you happy. You will be emotionally more stable, ready to take on a new year and will make the most of this month as it will be the best time to cheer with family, friends and loved ones. I see you taking a break, a vacation to clear your head, your heart, and more importantly, to celebrate the New Year. You will be all out for a reunion or a gathering of your own or of someone important to you. Go forth and make merry. You deserve this celebration.

April-May-June – In an existing relationship scenario things are likely to get a little stressful. However, there is hope that things will settle in this very quarter. The relationship will pick up as it was in the last quarter but not without the understanding and support of both the partners involved. There is hope so don’t get too worked up over trivial issues and avoid making a mountain out of a molehill. If this happens, it might take that much longer to settle. The good news? I see you adopting the right attitude, a positive outlook towards your relationship. You will be in control of the situations and trust yourself to doing things right. January-February-March – This quarter is about taking control and acting fast. You have been ignoring the signs your body has been giving you lately. This could be terminal aches, pains, stress related issues or chronic ailments. Nothing is going to help you unless you decide to do something and act anew; for instance, introducing a certain type of workout regime or following a new diet plan. You need to do this fast before external factors take you down completely. If you have been holding on to some past baggage, let go. If you did something wrong or someone did wrong to you it’s in the past and the earlier you forgive and forget the better for you and your health. The stress arising out of this negative emotion will hound you to the extent that it hampers your health, which is what I see happening. If you are a female Arian and trying to get pregnant, then this quarter will bring good news for you. April-May-June – Work related stress and other issues might be of concern in this quarter. External factors play dirty. You have been pushing yourself too much; your body has not taken this too well. It’s asking you to slow down, to relax and unwind. Unfortunately I see disappointing news related to your health coming your way. This could be an ailment either big or small. Whatever the prognosis, be positive. Love yourself and be kind to your body. It has the power to heal itself and from what I see, you will succeed in doing that. To heal faster, surround yourself with positive, healthy influences. This phase of ill health too will settle. If need be, take a break, a small vacation or just a day’s break; it will rejuvenate you. If ill-health prolongs, it might bring in hospitalization. Now that you know this, you must choose to watch out and work on your body first. Take care of it and nurture it.
July-August-September – Don’t be too worried about your health. I see you all worked up about your health this quarter. Relax. It isn’t that bad. You will survive and sail through. If you have been overworking either professionally or simply because of a new workout regime, just take it easy. You have been working too hard and pushing yourself way too much. This is creating a lot of mental stress that in turn is causing related health issues. If you can balance these aspects, your health will spring back and you will feel as good as new. Everything in moderation and balance is the key to better health this quarter and you need to do just that.
October-November-December – Your recovery begins this quarter. If you have been worried about your health or were battling difficult times concerning health, it will all settle starting October. You should be feeling robust and fit by now. However, I see you again trailing the downward path. Avoid getting involved with stressful issues like difficult work targets and emotional matters. Stay away from these. Calm your mind and rest. If needed, take a break and come back. An art of living therapy, Yoga or Meditation should do you wonders. Fortunately there is good news of money coming in. It may take a few weeks to realize but it will come. This should take care of things. You are a powerful person and so is your card, the Emperor. The hunger for power and the power games that you often play to satiate this hunger is your only formidable opponent. You tend to take power way too seriously and hence my following observations:
The areas where I primarily need you to work based on the predictions made in this book, are Career and Wealth, the two aspects which hold you back this year. In order to better your prospects in these two areas, I recommend you perform the two exercises described below diligently and consistently till you make a habit of them.
Visualisation Meditation: In this form of meditation, you have to close your mind and quell the chattering in it. Then focus on what you want about your wealth or career. The Master Key System: ‘The Master Key System’ by Charles F. Haanel. This is a remarkable book that will teach you all that I have written under point A above. Charles Haanel suggests a daily exercise to improve your visualization skill, thereby improving your belief system and faith. After all, everything boils down to faith. This book is like a school catalogue emphasising the steps to be performed for your own good. Do read this book and most of your worries will be resolved. After you have finished this, you can read the book, ‘The Science of Getting Rich’ by Wallace D. Wattles. This is another beautiful book emphasizing the power of the law of attraction. However, you need to read this only after you have read ‘Master Key System’.
I had suggested this book to a very young patron of my Tarot Reading service. He was an aspiring actor and wanted to become a big name in the industry. He would come to me very often with his apprehensions and doubts regarding his choice of career. This had to be considering how highly qualified he was and the kind of stable and successful job that he had given up to follow his dream. My sessions with him were initially limited to readings, but as time passed I realised he needed more than mere predictions. He had the vision, but lacked the direction to achieve the vision. We also questioned his acting as he was better known as the son of a stuntman and therefore was branded as one himself. We resigned to this concept of his being good at stunts and nothing more. But little did we know that one day this actor would rule our hearts through his work, like the Emperor. He has worked hard with full dedication to get to where he is today. With critically acclaimed awards and commercially successful movies to back him, there is no turning back for this Emperor. His courage, dedication and persistence have catapulted him to the top. Today he is a top grosser with phenomenal hits in his oeuvre. An Emperor is known by the courage and valour he exhibits. Ajay Devgn has done so through his persistent work and by taking criticism positively. He has transformed himself to achieve this success. Taurus—The HIEROPHANT
Taurus is second in line after Aries. In Tarot, Hierophant follows the Emperor. After one’s quest for power and victory comes a new perspective, the spiritual aspect of life, and the Hierophant does just that; its primary task is to bring in the spiritual perspective, to heal the inside of a person, to help one in exploring the real meaning of the being within. Hierophant is a Greek word. ‘Hieros’ means sacred and ‘phainein’ means to reveal. In simpler terms, it means to reveal the secret of the universe, that there is more to life than just materialism. It’s the spiritual journey which the Hierophant asserts.
If this sounds obtuse, dear Taurus, let’s keep it simple. Hierophant means the Pope or a priest who is out there to teach you the basics of Humanity, assert religious rituals or lay down principles which would have to be followed, the so called dogmatic approach. Taurus is known for its dependability, perseverance, patience, stability, and also for its stubbornness. These qualities are similar to those of a Hierophant. This confirms his assertion, aggression or his control over his community. The card bears V—the fifth month of the year, the month of Taurus. If I were to draw a picture of how a Hierophant would be as a normal person in its daily chores or in the roles of a parent, lover or a boss, it would be something like this: the Taurus Hierophant is a very good parent. January-February-March – I have pulled three brilliant cards for each of the three months of the first quarter in 2015 and they all indicate a new beginning in Love, both in relationships old and new. I see someone stepping into your life, someone younger. When I say younger, it could also imply a person younger even if by a few days or so, someone who will sweep you off your feet. My advice is that you do not discount this person due to the age factor. A phase such as this one will energize you and keep you charged and happy. Now if you are already in a relationship, there is a possibility of getting attracted to someone younger who comes by. Don’t condemn your heart for this. You may as well embark on this voyage, this temptation while it lasts and then decide to let go. I see you not taking it too seriously, which is good. Also if your existing relationship is going through difficulty, you may have to look into it. It is time you stepped down a bit and brought about a few changes to make this work. July-August-September – The third quarter is a good omen for love. For all single Taureans it’s time you took a break and met new people. I assure you, you will meet a few interesting options. It will be best if you undertook a vacation which opens opportunities for interactions with the opposites.
In an existing relationship it’s time you took a break; a holiday or a vacation of some sorts. Your spouse will be happy you did this and it will do your relationship good. Dear Taurean, you have this tendency of letting other people control you or advise you more than needed. You must not pay much heed to this womanly figure I see in your life right now who is trying to dictate terms to you regarding your present relationship. This could be your mother, sister or a dear friend. Try and take your own decisions for a change. This quarter could be more fulfilling and gratifying provided you take control of your love life.
October-November-December – If you have been single all this long, then this quarter is the last of your singleton days. You are likely to meet someone who was long due but got delayed. This person could be an older man or a woman to whom you get attracted. This will be wonderful for your relationship. The older person’s logic and wisdom stabilizes the relationship. However I can’t say the same for existing relationships. There is possibility that news of separation or break up which was long due may come in this quarter. As a spiritual being, you give more importance to a healthy mind, not merely a fit body. Let us take a look at what my health predictions for 2015 reveal for the Hierophant in you.
January-February-March – Your prayer has been answered. If you have been ailing and were looking for medical help, that help is close at hand. He/she will bring an end to your health concerns. This ailment may be big or small and this cure could come in the form of a doctor, healer, therapist, nurse or as a specific kind of medicine. This antidote has been your prayer for some time now and it is manifested in this quarter. I see your spirit and attitude uplifted, buoyant; you will generally feel healthier and happier than usual. All of this will only add to a mental and physical balance. There is one little thing that you need to bear in mind and that is to be calm while handling two difficult and opposing elements, a phase you will face in the first quarter of 2015. These two opposite elements could be part of your professional or personal life. If handling them simultaneously isn’t possible, I would advise you to retain the more important element and let go of the other. Do not at any point in time let this issue stress you. Else there is a fear of ill health coming back all over again.
April-May-June – From what I see, the closure of the first quarter is somehow influencing the second quarter. You have to stop questioning, procrastinating and speculating for a little while. The more you do this, the harder you make it for yourself. An event of defeat and failure will prompt a lot of stress in your life. This could also be associated with a chronic sickness where doctors have given up or no solution seems to be making headway. You have to fight this phase with poise and calm. I advise you to make the right choice and go with the right medical help or professional advice. This choice may seem difficult initially but it will fall in place in time. After all this, I would like to give you some positive news. The end of this quarter is just perfect. If you are awaiting test results, the news is definitely positive and good. If it’s about making right choices, then you make the right one successfully.
July-August-September – The third quarter is about internal healing, the time to listen to that little voice coming from your subconscious mind. It is asking you to forgive and forget, let go, let old wounds heal. You are the one standing in the way of your own improvement. The more you relax your mind from personal issues, the more peace you will attain. If getting help from a loved one in doing this makes it easy then you must ask for help. I see you getting it easily too. There will be some sort of partnership, which in turn will help you resolve issues and thereby establish harmony in health. However, you seem to be out of balance in this quarter. What I mean is that you do not strike the right balance in various aspects of your life. There is a high possibility that you lean a little more towards one than the other. Strike a balance and things should start picking up.
October-November-December – Any imbalance in life, if not corrected, will land you in trouble. The fourth quarter is about taking right decisions and working on them constantly and persistently. If it’s about exercise, diet patterns and a routine which you have initiated, then stick to it. Do not give up now. I see some serious difficulties coming your way this quarter. October-November-December – I can’t believe this! Money loves you. Your magnetic charisma continues to attract money full swing even in the last quarter of 2015. You are likely to receive news of wealth. This news may come from your profession or family. All you have to do is welcome it with open arms, but here’s a piece of friendly advice; you may need to use this additional income as your savings for a rainy day. The best part about this quarter is the perfect balance that you strike between your expenses and income. I like that. You have learnt from your past and are using your experience for your own good. Keep that up. One thing you need to watch is this crazy little anxiety and tension that I see creeping up regarding your money. So much may sometime become unbelievable and you may tend to get over protective about your wealth. Don’t make this mistake. Relax and calm down. Don’t get insecure about your financial security in future. We will try and live in the present and later think of tomorrow. This anxiety will only cause you to lose what you have. So keep your cool. For the time being, reflect on what has been predicted for your Wealth in 2015. More or less, you seem to have done well in this year.

Now that I have given you some clarity about your Wealth, it’s time we looked at your Career. For a Hierophant, Career is all about satisfaction and completion. Money is important but secondary. You would like it more if someone paid you a wee bit less than you deserve but appreciated you more. I have pulled up three cards for each of the four quarters of the year 2015. Let’s break them up in each paragraph and know what is to happen in your career.
January-February-March – Good news is round the corner. If you have been looking for a new job opportunity it will come to you this quarter. This is a happy time for you at your work place. You will be recognized and rewarded for all the hard work you’ve put in. At any point in time if you reach a stage where you have to share your credit for the work you have done single-handedly, have the heart to do it. It will pay off later. In the months to come you might want to take a break to pace up creativity, accelerate your thought process or simply relax and take it easy. A break will do you good. In case your boss has been acting difficult lately or you have been subjected to unfairness, this break will come handy. It will clear your mind and stir you up. Towards the end of this quarter I see an intervention from a senior person in your organization or someplace connected to your work. This person is pleased with you and will decide to honour you for it. It’s the best time of the year to ask for a hike in salary, promotion or whatever you think you deserve. Just go for it, make the wish and it will be granted.
April-May-June – This quarter may seem a little difficult initially. My attempt here is to prepare you for news that may not be great. Appraisals take place around this time. In your case this appraisal time seems taxing. Arguments, misunderstandings and disappointments may hinder your growth for a while but don’t let your temper get the better of you; keep calm and handle the situation tactfully. It may happen that you are over promised and under appraised. I see you taking this not too nicely and struggling to prove your point by fighting out the decision made against you. My advice to you is to be firm and clear about what you want but if things don’t seem to be moving your way, don’t fight it too hard. If you do, your dream castle would crumble. Now the nice thing about this quarter is the travel opportunities you get. This is not any overseas travel. It may well be within India or the country where you are based, but it brings some respite, cheers you up and lets you meet new people. Enjoy this breather and don’t take work too seriously.
July-August-September – My dear Hierophant, you should not be worrying so much about work but I see you doing just that, worrying about things that don’t exist. From my experience and studies I believe all worries and stress are illusions of your mind, do not get carried away by them or base your decisions on them. So stop worrying, thinking of mindless matters, and making mountains out of molehills. If you have problems at work, procrastination will not help. Don’t eat, sleep, and wake up with work. Relax! What you are worrying about doesn’t exist except in your head. Yes I know competition may seem stiff but you are capable of handling healthy competition. You have all that it takes to deal with work related problems and issues. In fact this quarter has a silver lining. You will get everything that you wanted regarding your job. It’s just about being happy, thinking happy thoughts and keeping it cool. A genie is watching you and he is going to work mysteriously in granting you your wish. Keep looking forward.
October-November-December – A good beginning is what I see here in the last quarter. Though its wrap-up time for everybody, you will make for an especially good closure. If you have been awaiting a job change, a change of department or have wanted to start something of your own, then this is the time you will launch yourself. Completion and accomplishment are the two most important aspects of this quarter and you will be doing just that. In the meanwhile if boredom starts haunting you in your existing profile, remember this is all temporary. You will eventually arrive at what you want. Stop brooding over it and wait for the best to come for I know it will. Do not repeat the anxiety and apprehension I mentioned in the third quarter if accomplishments seem distant. It may get late, but good things will arrive. Have faith.

I can see that spirituality is not difficult for you to attain. It’s only a matter of choice. There has been some delay all this while in choosing this path; not anymore. 2015 is spiritually enlightening. You will embark on a new journey, a path never traded before. January-February-March – The first quarter is about the choice you make spiritually. There will come a point where spirituality will be one among many choices that you will have to make. You may have visions of vague spiritualism, where you are wandering all alone in the dark or in the woods; you may often have the urge to help others but may feel restricted due to your household responsibilities; you may feel bound to your work. You may also feel like foregoing all and taking a break to just do nothing at all. This is a good beginning. Why are these visions, feelings or confusions clouding your mind? So many questions will lead to at least one right answer—spirituality. This is the answer to all your questions. Be positive and tread on the path. You will see how beautifully this journey unfolds.
April-May-June – Self doubt, negative thinking, sleeplessness; this are the gifts you give yourself in the second quarter of 2015. Many unanswered questions haunt you like a devil that has possessed you, but please be informed that it is natural to feel this way. You are doing something different, something away from the usual routine of life. Hence your mind resists it in the form of negative thoughts and self doubt so you can give up this beautiful journey. My advice is, calm your mind, calm the chattering, all the noise that goes on in there. It’s your Mind. It has to obey you, not vice versa. So be in control and all resistance will dissolve. You may do this by reading some motivational books on spirituality or meditating at least five minutes a day. Make a practice of it and you’ll soon become perfect at it.
July-August-September – Good news is here. You will have guidance and support on this journey. The third quarter brings in what you have most wanted on your path to spirituality. A teacher, mentor or a guide steps in. Don’t wonder how this happened. This is a manifestation of your own thoughts; you asked for it and it was granted. This Mentor will take you through the study of the being. You need not listen meekly to all that the mentor says, he/she likes being questioned and probed. In turn, this will also widen your knowledge on the subject of spirituality. I am happy for you. In all this darkness, there is one little candle burning to show you the way. Make the most of this help and set forth on your goal of Nirvana.
October-November-December – I did tell you, spirituality comes quite naturally and easily to you. The fourth quarter is about the glimpses of enlightenment you feel from all the effort you have put in. You deserve a pat on your back for this. To feel what you will in this quarter usually takes much longer for normal people. But you are the Hierophant, a spiritual mentor yourself. Don’t forget this bit. You will notice the small successes during these months. You will feel reaffirmed that you are on the right path. Keep walking and see the changes life brings in.
